Join Team San Diego!

The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center JACOBS FAMILY CAMPUS is the proud host of the 2020 JCC Maccabi Experience including the JCC Maccabi Games®, ArtsFest®, and Access®. Join more than 400 teen athletes and artists as part of Team San Diego for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We welcome participants of all abilities/skill level, sexual/gender orientations and levels of Jewish observance.

More than 2,000 participants from around the world will come to San Diego to compete in sports, participate in artistic workshops, and embrace the Experience’s Midot Values including Tikkun Olam (Repairing the World) and Amiut Yehudit (Jewish Peoplehood).

These sentiments are shared throughout the week during events designed to strengthen the Jewish bond between people, community and Israel.  It’s an opportunity to learn the value of teamwork, integrity, cultural pride and community service, while expanding an appreciation of Jewish values and building lifelong friendships.

All registered athletes and artists are required to attend a minimum of one assessment but are highly encouraged to attend both assessment dates. Please make sure to bring all the necessary sports equipment to the assessments.

The JCC Maccabi Games®—five days that can change the lives of Jewish teens (13 to 16 years old)—have been doing just that for more than 30 years. During the JCC Maccabi Games®, teens from communities around the globe are immersed in a sports and recreation program imbued with Jewish values and experiences. The goal of the JCC Maccabi Games® is to contribute to the maintenance and enrichment of Jewish identity in youth and to the development of democratic values and leadership through healthy competition and sportsmanship. The JCC Maccabi Games®, in partnership with its sister program JCC Maccabi ArtsFest®, is the largest annual gathering of Jewish teens in the world and has now influenced over 130,000 Jewish youth in North America and around the world.

Sports include boys’ basketball,  girls’ basketball, boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, boys’ baseball, girls’ volleyball, ice hockey, flag football, swimming, star reporter, tennis, table tennis, bowling, dance, golf, track & field, and eSports.

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® is a weeklong summer arts experience for creative Jewish teens (13 to 17 years old) that takes place alongside JCC Maccabi Games®. Like the Games, ArtsFest incorporates community service through our JCC Cares program, social activities, community, and Israel engagement. Featuring workshops in a variety of creative specialties with some of the leading artists in each field, JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® inspires Jewish teens through a dynamic combination of workshops, performance, exhibition, and fun. ArtsFest teens spend their days learning from some of the most highly regarded artists in their fields, working alongside other teens who share their artistic spirit, and spending their nights socializing at the largest Jewish teen block party with thousands of other Jewish teens from all over the world from both JCC Maccabi ArtsFest® and the JCC Maccabi Games®.

ArtsFest specialties include vocal music, visual arts, rock band, musical theatre, acting & improv, dance, culinary arts, film, and social media squad. Find your place to shine!
