Become a Host Family for Jewish Teens!

The host family experience is an exceptional and rewarding aspect of the JCC Maccabi Games®, ArtsFest®, and Access®, for teens, host families, and the entire community.

Host families are an integral part of the JCC Maccabi Experience as they offer teens a Jewish “home away from home,” unforgettable memories, and lasting friendships. It is truly a special way to experience Maccabi and all the Jewish community has to offer. Host families will also have a rewarding experience during the JCC Maccabi Experience as they connect with their friends and neighbors, and build a special bond with their visiting teens that will extend even after Maccabi.

Things To Know: In Your Home

Sleeping Accommodations
Each participant is expected to have his or her own separate bed, cot or air mattress. Participants cannot share a bed. Absolutely no overnight sleepovers or switching of homes is allowed. In addition, participants are not allowed to go to hotels of parents, Delegation Heads or Coaches. These are sanctioned offenses and may result in a participant’s being sent home.

The JCC is able to provide air mattresses if needed. Please contact Lauren Luedtke.

Host Family Nights
Host Family Nights are opportunities for you to show off our great community. Participants must be under your supervision at all times during this evening.

Meals
You will be responsible for the following meals:

  • Breakfast Monday – Friday
  • Dinner on Host Family Nights (Sunday & Wednesday)

All other meals, as well as daytime snacks, are provided to the teens by the JCC. All food served by the JCC is kosher.

Laundry
Many teens will want to wash uniforms and JCC Maccabi t-shirts frequently. Please offer to assist as they may be too shy to ask.

Orientation
You will be asked to complete an online registration and background check when the site goes live and attend a host family orientation meeting in late Spring 2020 at the JCC.
